Rev. Oran W. Young is a native Washingtonian with maternal and paternal roots from North and South Carolina, respectively. He is a graduate of Wilson High School in Washington, DC as well as The University of the District of Columbia. Rev. Young accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Saviour in the fall of 1987. He was licensed to preach in September 2001 by his Pastor, Rev. Dr. Morris L. Shearin of Israel Baptist Church, where he served in numerous capacities, including leader of the Evangelism Ministry, Treasurer and as an Associate Minister on the ministerial staff. In 2005, Rev. Young earned his Masters of Divinity from The Howard University School of Divinity. In August of 2006, Rev. Young successfully completed his catechism and was ordained as a minister of the gospel. In 2009, Rev. Young served as the Assistant to the Pastor at the New Redeemer Baptist Church in Washington, DC, under the leadership of the Pastor, Rev. Alan Thompson. Rev. Young is married to the love of his life, Linda Young. They have four sons and three grandchildren. Rev. Young’s vision is to lead believers to be true followers of Jesus Christ. Rev. Young wants to be known most of all for his love for the Lord and that he is determined to stay with Christ.
