Life Recovery Ministry

The Life Recovery Ministry was born out of a vision of Pastor Bell’s to be able to help persons cope with various life situations. Started in January 2005, David and Anna Jones and Keith and Cassandra Bell sat down and drafted the Ministry’s mission and goals. The mission is to serve the community as an outreach of the church. The ministry has its scriptural basis in Psalm 51 --

“Have mercy upon me, O God, according to they loving kindness;
Tender mercies blot out my transgressions.
Wash me thoroughly from mine iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin.
For I acknowledge my transgressions;
And my sin is ever before me.”

Members and participants share their life’s experiences, past and present. Men and women come to share the experiences that pertain to dependencies. Through sharing experiences, strengths, hopes and through faith, their goal is to come to know and understand the importance of being a part of the “Spiritual Family” with a loving and caring God as its head. Participants come to appreciate the biblical foundation of the Twelve Steps that provide a healing and a solution from the pain of dependency.

The First Rising Mt. Zion Baptist Church Life Recovery Ministry invites individuals from all walks of life to fellowship on Mondays at 6:00 P.M.
